Valhalla, according to Norse mythology was a magnificent palace, roofed with shields wherein dwelled the bravest of slain Norse warriors. There, under the leadership of the god, Odin, they lived a happy life waiting for the day when they would be rallied to march out and do battle against the giants. To reach Valhalla was the greatest honour a Norse warrior could attain. Valkyries, maidens who served Odin, travelled to the battlefields to choose the slain who were worthy of a place in Valhalla. Had Odin searched the world for Valhalla, he would have found it here in the Valhalla Provincial Park, a 49,000 hectare site in the Slocan Valley, British Columbia of unparalleled beauty.

No shields roof this majestic domain, only skies of azure blue by day and billions of stars by night. Its palaces are mountain peaks with names like Asgaard, Gimli and Dag. This is a truly special place, unique in this pristine valley of special places.
In our palace at the Valhalla Inn, we offer you mortals all the worldly comforts of good food, comfortable accommodations and a relaxed neighbourhood pub. If a few gods come to join us from time to time, well we don’t mind!
